Austin is the state capital of texas  home to University of Texas and is known for a cool live music scene country blues and Rock.  We have wonderful parks and lakes where folks can hike, bike, swim, and boat including Lake Austin, Lake Travis on the Northwest side, Lady Bird Lake near Downtown a wonderful place to try Stand up paddle, rowing and kayaking

For hundreds of years, nomadic tribes of Tonkawas, Comanches, and Lipan Apaches camped and hunted along the creeks, including what is now known as Barton Springs.

The site of Waterloo was purchased for the capital of the Republic of Texas in March 1839 and renamed in honor of Stephen F. Austin. On August 1, 1839, the first city lots were sold at auction. The city was officially incorporated on December 27, 1839.
